As research has shown, water play gives children opportunities to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination as they pour, squirt, stir and squeeze. The water table introduces children to early physics concepts like motion and flowing water and allows them to make predictions about what objects will sink or float. It can relax and ease anxious or upset children, as well as encourage cooperative play with peers.
